Plagiarism is often a mistake of failing to site sources correctly. you want your readers to understand what ideas are yours and which ones come from your sources. paraphrases are also needing to be cited accurately or they will be considered plagiarism. intentional plagiarism is passing off others work as your own. even closely related writing can be considered plagiarism. to avoid plagiarism hassle make sure to cite sources correctly! also, take notes carefully to ensure you don't think a quote you wrote down is something you thought up on your own. There are many reasons why writers may feel the need to plagiarize, but none of them are acceptable.
